Ian Mackay

I am a San Francisco-based designer whose work spans illustration, animation, comics, and sculpture. Moving freely between digital and analog media, my art is defined by gestural linework, bold color, dynamic motion, and a taste for the absurd. I have a B.A. in English literature from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's degree in landscape architecture from The Ohio State University.

I am available for freelance work or commissions. Please e-mail me at to get in touch.

My work has been featured at, East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest (EBABZ), the East Bay Print Sale, Oakland Print Fair, and West Coast Craft. My zines are sold at Desert Island Comics in Brooklyn, NY, Juxtapoz Projects in Jersey City, NJ, and Needles and Pens in San Francisco, CA. On November 11, I’ll be selling comics and art prints at Comic Arts Brooklyn.
